Track record

The experience behind Vuola.

Vuola is a newly established technology company, built on the previous experience of its founding team across European R&D, digital health, industrial AI and technology innovation. What follows is that experience: products defined and prototyped, solutions validated with users in real settings, frameworks developed for multinational consortia, and peer-reviewed applied research.

What these are, and what they are not

Vuola Consulting, S.L. was constituted recently. The initiatives below were delivered by its founding team in previous and current professional engagements, before and outside the company, not as Vuola client projects. We list them because they evidence the capabilities we bring, and we label them plainly because a track record that overstates its own provenance is worth nothing to anyone evaluating it.

smartCARE: product strategy and validation in European digital health

Founding-team experience · Product direction, at the app developer · Project coordinated by the European Cancer Organisation

A flagship initiative of Europe's Beating Cancer Plan to create a digital platform giving cancer survivors full control over their health and follow-up care data.

Product leadership on the discovery and delivery phases, at the app developer selected by HaDEA through a separate call for tender: from a pan-European survey in 18 languages that gathered more than 1,000 responses from 52 countries, to the functional definition of four modules and their validation with 92 patients and survivors and 16 healthcare professionals in Czechia, Slovenia, Spain and Italy.

11-partner consortium54-month programmePublished paperInvited talk, ESTEP 2026

Design and leadership of the Dual-Track Agile framework adapted to the steel industry: a model integrating discovery, continuous delivery, data governance and industrial operator trust loops.

It addresses a key challenge in Industry 4.0: securing operator adoption and trust before scaling digital twins and AI to the plant floor. Designed and introduced within a consortium of 11 European organisations, and presented as an invited talk at the ESTEP AI-4-Steel Workshop in Leoben.

CURUMIM: recommendation algorithms based on behaviour and curiosity

Founding-team experience · Doctoral research, Universitat Politècnica de València · Published in Procedia Computer Science
Doctoral research · Intelligent & recommender systemsPeer-reviewedConsistency and transfer

Doctoral research at the intersection of recommender systems, human interaction data and psychometric curiosity metrics for experience personalisation.

It is the research background behind our ability to judge which AI use cases are worth pursuing, how their quality should be evaluated, and how mature a technology genuinely is.

What the work involved

Evaluation, maturity and technology transfer
Evaluation design
Criteria and scoring approaches for assessing innovative proposals and early-stage technology ventures.
Selection
Prioritisation of initiatives within a portfolio, on evidence, maturity and potential rather than pitch quality.
Maturity
Technology-readiness assessment and proof-of-concept design for the initiatives taken forward.
Transfer
Technology-transfer activities between universities, research groups and SMEs.

INTECMED: deciding which innovations deserve to move forward

Founding-team experience · European innovation and technology-transfer project
Startup evaluationTRL assessmentProof of conceptTechnology transfer

A European project on incubating and transferring innovation across Mediterranean regions, where the recurring question was not whether an idea sounded promising but which of them justified further investment.

The relevant experience is the design and application of evaluation approaches for innovative proposals and technology startups: what counts as evidence at an early stage, how technology maturity is judged when little has been built, and what a proof of concept would have to show for a decision to be defensible. It is the same discipline we apply when a client asks whether an initiative should advance, be modified or be reconsidered.

What this track record is for

Defining a product, making it tangible, testing it with the people it is for, and defending the result in front of an evaluator or a board are four connected disciplines. Between them, these initiatives evidence capability in each one. What they do not do is promise the same outcome on your initiative, which is precisely why we work by generating evidence rather than by asserting results.

Shall we move your project forward?

Tell us about the idea, the technology, the call or the innovation initiative you want to move forward. You will receive an initial view of scope and an effort estimate.
